The Cultural Impact of the Boston Celtics on the City of Boston

The Boston Celtics, often referred to as the “C’s,” are one of the most storied franchises in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Established in 1946, the Celtics have a rich tradition of success, winning a record 17 NBA championships. However, their impact extends far beyond their on-court achievements. The Boston Celtics have played a crucial role in shaping the cultural landscape of the city of Boston. From racial integration to community involvement, the Celtics have left an indelible mark on the city and its residents.

The history of the Boston Celtics

The history of the Boston Celtics is a tale of triumph and perseverance. Founded by Walter A. Brown, the team quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with. Led by legendary coach Red Auerbach, the Celtics dominated the NBA in the 1960s, winning an unprecedented 11 championships in 13 years. This era, known as the “Celtics dynasty,” solidified the team’s place in basketball history. The Celtics continued to be successful in the following decades, with players like Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Paul Pierce carrying on the tradition of excellence.

The cultural significance of the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics hold a special place in the hearts of Bostonians. They are more than just a basketball team; they represent the spirit and resilience of the city. The team’s success has become intertwined with the identity of Boston itself. The Celtics’ green and white uniforms have become iconic symbols of the city, and their logo, featuring a leprechaun spinning a basketball, is instantly recognizable. Celtics fans and their passion for the team

Celtics fans are known for their unwavering passion and loyalty. The team has one of the most dedicated fan bases in the NBA, with the TD Garden, the Celtics’ home arena, consistently filled with enthusiastic supporters. Celtics games are more than just sporting events; they are communal experiences that bring people together. The energy and excitement in the arena are palpable, creating an electric atmosphere that can only be found in Boston. The team’s success has united the city, creating a sense of camaraderie among its residents.

The Boston Celtics and racial integration in the NBA

The Boston Celtics played a pivotal role in breaking down racial barriers in professional basketball. In the 1950s and 1960s, the NBA was predominantly composed of white players. However, the Celtics were one of the first teams to embrace racial integration. In 1950, they drafted Chuck Cooper, becoming the first NBA team to draft an African American player. This move paved the way for future players of color to enter the league. The Celtics continued to lead the charge in promoting racial equality, with Bill Russell becoming the first African American head coach in the NBA in 1966. The team’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity has had a lasting impact on the league as a whole.

The Boston Celtics and community involvement

The Boston Celtics have always been deeply connected to the community they represent. The team and its players are actively involved in charitable efforts and community outreach programs. The Celtics Foundation, the team’s philanthropic arm, supports various initiatives focused on education, health, and wellness. Players regularly visit local schools, hospitals, and community centers, inspiring and empowering the next generation of Bostonians. The Celtics’ commitment to giving back to the community has helped foster a sense of pride and unity among residents of the city.

The economic impact of the Boston Celtics on the city

The success of the Boston Celtics has had a significant economic impact on the city of Boston. The team’s popularity has led to increased tourism, with fans from all over the world flocking to the city to catch a glimpse of their favorite players in action. Celtics games generate revenue for local businesses, including restaurants, hotels, and retail stores. The team’s success also boosts the city’s image, attracting investment and driving economic growth.

How the Duke men’s basketball’s first half against Notre Dame

Duke basketball

As an AI language model, I am unable to provide real-time information or live updates. However, I can give you some general tips on what to observe during a basketball game. For a more recent analysis of a specific game, I recommend checking sports news websites or social media for expert commentary. Here are five general observations to consider during a basketball match:

  1. Team dynamics: Observe how well the players are communicating and working together on the court. Good teamwork is crucial for success in basketball.
  2. Shooting accuracy: Pay attention to each team’s shooting percentage, as this can be a significant factor in determining the outcome of the game. Teams with a high shooting accuracy are more likely to score points and win the game.
  3. Defense: Analyze each team’s defensive strategies and effectiveness. A solid defense can make it difficult for the opposing team to score points and can create opportunities for steals and fast breaks.
  4. Rebounding: Keep an eye on each team’s ability to secure rebounds, both offensively and defensively. Rebounding is essential for maintaining possession and creating second-chance scoring opportunities.
  5. Player performance: Watch individual players and their contributions to the game. Star players can often make a significant impact on a game, but it’s also essential to recognize the role players who contribute to the team’s success.

Remember to check recent news and updates for specific information about the game you mentioned.

Despite Duke’s strong start, shooting from beyond the arc did not come easy. The Blue Devils went just 3-of-11 from 3-point range, with only a single attempt from the sharpshooter McCain in the half.

Here’s why the Nuggets are the best game in town

And no, it’s not just because they won the NBA title in 2023

The Denver Nuggets are the best team in town. And no, it’s not just because they won the NBA title in 2023. It’s that every time out, no matter who is on the court, these Nuggets players give it their all, for each other and for their fans, in a game that I enjoy watching more than any other.

And since we have the No. 1 professional basketball player in the world leading our Mile High squad, I would say my opinion is highly defensible.

Of course, other Colorado sports teams certainly play their hearts out for each other and their fans, and I enjoy watching Rockies, Avs and Broncos games as well. (Sorry, Rapids and Mammoth. I hardly know ye.) But there is something exhilarating about the acrobatic moves, pinpoint training, physical finesse and on-the-spot playmaking necessary to excel in the NBA. And since the league instituted fines in 2023, there are fewer instances of flopping (looking at you, LeBron) so fans can better appreciate players’ mad skills without being turned off by their silly antics.

Nuggets

When I moved here from the East Coast in 1990, I quickly fell in love with the team and its players, such as LaPhonso Ellis, Dikembe Mutombo, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, Antonio McDyess, Chauncey Billups, Chris “Birdman” Andersen, Nene, Andre Miller,  Kenyon Martin, J.R. Smith, Allen Iverson, Arron Afflalo, Ty Lawson, Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried, Gary Harris, Will Barton and Mason Plumlee.

Nuggets fans stuck with the team season after losing season, appreciative of what the players brought into our lives as representatives of the Centennial State and enamored of their individual hard work and sportsmanship (well, for the most part, but we won’t point fingers here). It was kinda fun rooting for the underdogs. For a while.

basketball gods and the Kroenkes

And then, in 2015, the basketball gods and the Kroenkes smiled on us, bringing us Nikola Jokic and a year later, Jamal Murray — the dynamic duo, who taught us all what selfless play and teamwork was about.

You just can’t beat a slick Joker pass to the Blue Arrow for a three-pointer late in a game for stand-up-and-scream excitement in any sport.

Laura Keeney, a former Denver Post reporter now living in Rochester, N.Y., is such a huge fan that she flew back to Denver to attend an NBA finals game and recently trekked down to Philadelphia to cheer on her Nuggets.

the Nuggets has to be that they play

“I’d go as far as to say the Nuggets are one of the best sports teams overall, not just in Colorado,” she said. “Sure, they are all quite likable people who play with a physicality that almost guarantees games will be filled with excitement, but much of the same could be said about any of our Colorado teams.

“For me, the x-factor with the Nuggets has to be that they play for each other, as opposed to stroking superstar egos and striving for individual glory. We have a once-in-a-lifetime talent in Jokic (which is reason alone to mark them as No. 1), but even rarer is that he’s surrounded by a group of guys who unselfishly put each other first, and genuinely seem to like each other. It’s a rare and beautiful thing to see a team actually function as a team, regardless of their superstar.

“I truly believe the culture Moach (Coach Michael Malone) has built in that locker room will go down in history and be studied for years to come. Now, let’s run it back and get the next chip, shall we?”

what happened in the – Premier League Arsenal wins 3-1 Liverpool

  • Arsenal entertain Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.
  • It’s a top-of-the-table clash as the Reds lead the league with 51 points from 22 games.
  • The Gunners are joint second with Manchester City with 46 points but City have a game in hand.
  • Liverpool are on a four-match winning streak in the league.
  • Arsenal have won two and lost two of their last four games.
  • Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has announced he is to leave the Anfield-based club at the end of the season.

Over to Manchester City

A win for Pep Guardiola’s side at Brentford on Monday then the top three will be separated by two points.

This title race of title races just keeps delivering.

Whatever happens, Arsenal put their stamp back on matters among the challengers at the top once again with a special game at the Emirates.

Arteta admits half-time was difficult

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admits his side were flattened to go in level at the break after a strong first half.

“I could feel the pain in the dressing room and I said that if we feel sorry for ourselves they will punish us,” he told Sky Sports.

“We knew we were going to have difficult moments and the body language had to be good because we knew it would be difficult

“But we started to control the game (in the second half) and we scored the goals’

“We felt like we connected with our people in the stadium because the atmosphere was amazing.

“At the moment they are the best team in Europe the way they dominate games. You have to be on your toes, they play fast and you have to be at your best.

“We’ve come so far and now it is about doing it consistently. They have done it for six or seven years.

“That was a big win for us. It gives us momentum – we are back on it and we are really excited.”

Klopp says Arsenal were better

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says his side were second best to Arsenal – but only just.

“In general it was not our day and Arsenal deserved the three points – even in strange circumstances,” he told Sky Sports, referencing the Gunners’ second goal.

“We found a way and we had to adapt in a lot of moments. We had to bring a lot of players back from injury and into certain positions.

“We had the situations where it was close and they had problems with us.

“In the second half, if you keep it open, then Arsenal and the crowd can become nervous.

“It was close, Arsenal were under pressure but I really thought in the first half we found our way into the game.

“A lot of things came together and sometimes that happens.”

Premier League-Liverpool skipper admits fault for defeat

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk says the result rests on him.

“Eventually it was a difficult day – I take full responsibility for the second goal,” the defender told Sky Sports after the mix-up that allowed Martinelli’s tap-in.

“It was a big turning point just after the break, we were so good and creating chances.

“Arsenal is a very good team, but we were very dominant in the second half.

“I should have cleared the ball but made a split-second decision. I choose to let the ball bounce and put my body in between. But I will try to make sure this never happens again.

“It hurts. I will learn from this.”

‘We knew the importance of the game’

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice says the magnitude of the match was not lost on the player.

“We knew the fine margins that are involved at the top,” he told Sky Sports.

“Everything was right about this game, all the preparation and all the build-up.

“When you are competing for titles every game is important, but there was a real importance today. We kids, you dream of these moments.”

Ferrari confirm Lewis Hamilton as driver for 2025 F1 season

Lewis Hamilton will make a sensational move to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula One season on a multiyear contract, the Italian team confirmed on Thursday.

1-Hamilton, a seven-time world champion and winner of a record 103 races, will drive for Mercedes this coming season before replacing Carlos Sainz the following year.

Hamilton, 39, signed a new two-year contract with Mercedes last year but exercised a release option to allow him to walk away from the team after just one season.

Hamilton said leaving Mercedes “was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make.”

He added: “The time is right for me to take this step and I’m excited to be taking on a new challenge. I will be forever grateful for the incredible support of my Mercedes family, especially Toto [Wolff, Mercedes team principal] for his friendship and leadership and I want to finish on a high together.

“I am 100% committed to delivering the best performance I can this season and making my last year with the Silver Arrows, one to remember.”

Ferrari, F1’s most successful team and the only one to have competed in every world championship season, has not won a drivers title since Kimi Raikkonen’s in 2007.

Hamilton, tied with Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher with seven titles, now has a chance to end the Italian team’s drought and move clear as F1’s most decorated champion in the process.

Lewis Hamilton

Were he to do so, he would become the first driver to win championships with three different teams since Juan Manuel Fangio in 1957.

Rumours of Hamilton joining Ferrari have been common throughout his career, but Thursday’s news still appeared to come out of the blue — ESPN has been told even Mercedes was caught off guard, which is reflected in the fact they have not yet confirmed a driver to replace him.

ESPN sources confirmed the news of Hamilton’s switch on Thursday morning. Ferrari chairman John Elkann, known to be a long-time admirer of Hamilton’s ability, wanted Ferrari to add a big-name driver to partner Charles Leclerc going forward.

Leclerc recently signed a contract extension until at least 2026 — Elkann’s ambitions now explain why Ferrari had been stalling on doing similar with Sainz.

Leclerc has been with Ferrari since before he joined F1 but, despite forging a reputation as the sport’s fastest qualifier, questions remain about his ability to win a championship, having made a string of high-profile mistakes under pressure.

Grand Prix, Hamilton and Ferrari team boss

Ahead of last year’s Monaco Grand Prix, Hamilton and Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur laughed off reports that the British driver was about to sign with the team, but sources say Elkann continued chasing Hamilton’s signature even after he agreed an extension with Mercedes and that negotiations intensified towards the end of the year and into January.

Vasseur worked with Hamilton when he won the GP2 (now Formula Two) title in 2006 with the ART team and the two have remained on good terms since.

Until Thursday’s bombshell announcement, Hamilton had appeared happy to see out his career with Mercedes, the team he joined in 2013 in what has gone down as one of the best driver moves in recent times.

Hamilton won six of his seven world titles with the team in the most dominant spell in F1 history, which saw Mercedes win the constructors championship eight times in a row between 2014 and 2021.

After being controversially denied an eighth drivers title on the final lap of the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Hamilton failed to score a single race victory in either 2022 or 2023.

Last year he said Mercedes needed the best six months of development in F1 history just to catch the dominant Red Bull team.

F1 project in 2026, although he now

Mercedes appeared set to go into the future with the core of its team together — team boss Toto Wolff recently signed a three-year extension, while Hamilton’s teammate George Russell is under contract until the end of 2025.

The identity of Hamilton’s replacement will now be a major talking point for the season ahead.

“We knew our partnership would come to a natural end at some point, and that day has now come,” Wolff said. “We accept Lewis’s decision to seek a fresh challenge, and our opportunities for the future are exciting to contemplate.”

Williams driver Alex Albon, who enjoyed a standout 2023 and is a good friend of Russell, appears to be a strong candidate.

Sainz is considered more likely to sign with Audi’s incoming F1 project in 2026, although he now may be a left-field option for Mercedes as they look to fill the void.

“Following today’s news, Scuderia Ferrari and myself will part ways at the end of 2024,” Sainz said in a statement posted on X.

“We still have a long season ahead of us and, like always, I will give my absolute best for the team and for the Tifosi all around the world.

“News about my future will be announced in due course.”

Daniel Ricciardo, who will race for the newly named Red Bull junior team Visa Cash App RB this year, is also likely to be linked to the seat, although he has made it clear he wants to replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull in 2025.

Added attention will now be paid to the progress of Mercedes wonderkid junior driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who will race in Formula Two this season. The Italian teenager, who signed a development deal with Mercedes over Ferrari, has been tipped as a future star of the sport, but an elevation in 2025 might be considered too early.

Guard or big… do the Wizards have what the Knicks need?

What do the Knicks need the most? A little guard able of handing the gemstone off the pine with firing prowess? A youthful, stout big to man the pain and bolster the backup at the five?

Whatever the case is, they might have the perfect mate in possession of those means inD.C.

I wrote about some players linked to the Knicks by a many NBA Interposers, all of them presently employed by the lowly Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton, sect Jordan Clarkson, and big Kelly Olynyk.

I deliberately left out a many nuggets participated by those interposers in the sources I linked, substantially related to a couple of players from an entirely different association the Washington Wizards.

Those two men guard Tyus Jones and center Daniel Gafford.

ESPN’s Brian Windhors and fellow pundits Tim MacMahon and Tim Bontemps were the bones
doing the heavy talk in the rearmost occasion of the Hoop Collaborative podcast, with the ultimate two floating those two options as implicit Knicks targets.

Tim MacMahon, specifically, suggested the Knicks consider Tyus Jones, who preliminarily played under current Knicks trainer Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota.

“ I would be calling Washington about Tyus Jones, ” said MacMahon after mentioning Utah and the Clarkson/ Sexton pairing as druthers
worth exploring by the Knicks.

Jalen Brunson

After completing the trade for OG Anunoby and saying farewell to Immanuel Quickley, the Knicks lost all productive true point guards in their gyration with the backup options being Deuce McBride and the incoming Malachi Flynn.

Jones could be a perfect complement to Jalen Brunson taking over the one when JB sits. It’s also worth noting that Jones is presently on a contract time, with his deal expiring coming summer holding a cap megahit of$ 14 million this season.
Jones would presumably take much lower to trade for in terms of means going the other way than utmost players linked to the Knicks if the frontal office prioritizes completing somemid-tier moves before pulling off the final sale for a bonafide, elite megastar.

ESPN, talking on theJan.

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, talking on theJan. 8th occasion of his podcast, Jones ’ value could be set at “ multiple seconds ” by the Wizards. That’s a fair price to demand for a player on an expiring deal by a ballot that’s a cinch to finish with a bottom- five record this season, and therefore trying to prize commodity in trading their players down now rather losing them for nothing coming summer.

Jones is presently comprising career highs with12.7 points,5.6 assists,2.8 rebounds, and1.2 steals per game. He’s slashing53/44/73, which also marks career-high numbers on the field- thing and 3- point delicacy fronts while his free- gamble chance has gone down a bit from last season’s80.6.

Daniel Gafford as the intellect of interest for the Knicks.

On the other side of the webcam, Tim Bontemps brought another Wizards player into the discussion that the Knicks might be interested in bringing to Mahattan if the ballot opts to go bit rather of small.

Bontemps stressed Daniel Gafford as the intellect of interest for the Knicks. “ The joe that I suppose would be really intriguing for the Knicks is Daniel Gafford. ”

The pundit did n’t stop there, pacing to explain his logic for a trade serving New York if they follow that path. “ You brace( Gafford) with Isaiah Hartenstein. You get back to what was one of the real Knicks strengths before Mitchell Robinson got hurt — which say you had 48 twinkles of high- quality above- normal- to- really-good center play.

Wizards running through the end of the2025/26.

“ Whether it’s Precious Achiuwa or Jericho Sims, they do n’t really have the same thing now indeed though Isaiah Hartenstein has been stupendous since taking the starting job for Mitchell Robinson, ” Bontemps said.

Gaffford’s contract, still, is on the contrary side of the Jones ’ expiring deal diapason. The big man lately inked an extension with the Wizards running through the end of the2025/26 season. He’s earning a bit over$ 12 million this time,$ 13 million coming season, and$ 14 in his last time under contract.

This season, Gafford is comprising10.5 points,7.7 rebounds, and2.0 blocks this season. He’s firing much worse probabilities than last season( 68 to73.2 a time ago) and you wo n’t find him stretching the bottom at all as he operates simply in the makeup. His free- gamble firing, still, has gone way over to 73 compared to last time’s( and career-wide)67.9 from the charity stripe.

The Wizards are shaping

There haven’t been numerous rumors about Gafford’s vacuity, with the rearmost coming from Jake Fischer ofYahoo! before Christmas. He wrote a column agitating some trade talk going on during the G League Winter Showcase.

“ Gafford may be the coming-stylish option( after Clint Capela, according to Fischer) for the Knicks, or any other platoon, in hunt of available starting- position gift at the position, ” Fischer wrote. “ The Wizards are shaping into merchandisers with a( also) 5- 22 record in this first time under Michael Winger’s new frontal office. ”

One ballot, a couple of putatively-available players, and two veritably different options for the Knicks in trading for one or the other. P&T ers studies on them?

Why Texas Tech can cover

Although the Red Raiders are historically known for their relentless passing attack, they have quietly developed a top-40 rushing attack and feature one of the top running backs in the country. Senior Tahj Brooks is ninth in the country with 887 rushing yards, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Brooks has clipped the 100-yard mark five times, including rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown against BYU. He has found the end zone at least once in four consecutive games. Brooks also has been a viable receiving option out of the backfield, securing 14 receptions for 72 yards.

Sophomore Cam’Ron Valdez also has provided a change of pace in the backfield with numerous explosive runs in somewhat limited action. Valdez has 212 yards on 29 carries for an average of 7.3 yards per rush and found the end zone in the win against Houston. He added three catches for 27 yards in the loss to Kansas State. See which team to pick here.

Why TCU can cover

TCU coach Sonny Dykes told the media that a good portion of the emphasis during the bye week was spent on working on mental and physical toughness after Kansas State clearly presented an edge in those areas. He referenced the team he inherited in his first year at the helm, which memorably went through the regular season undefeated and ended up in the national title game against Georgia.

That historic team featured a wealth of talented, experienced players such as quarterback Max Duggan and receiver Quentin Johnston, who were among eight TCU players taken in the NFL draft.

resilience and toughness

Although this year’s club is vastly inexperienced by comparison, Sykes said he challenged this club to tap into the resilience and toughness that made last year’s club so memorable. He said such traits are the goal for which the program should be defined.

The Horned Frogs have also had issues keeping their signal-callers healthy and will likely go with freshman backup Josh Hoover for the third time on Thursday. Incumbent starter Chandler Morris remains sidelined with a knee injury suffered in a 27-14 loss at Iowa State. Hoover threw for 439 yards and two touchdowns while completing 37 of 58 passes in a 44-11 rout of BYU in his first start. See which team to pick here.

Dan Quinn says defense was ‘running our race’ in win

Dan Quinn says defense was ‘running our race’ in win

FRISCO, Texas — There was much more positivity to be dished around on Tuesday at The Star compared to a week ago when the Dallas Cowboys were resetting after a big loss, as this time around the team gets to take a gritty win into the bye week to stand firm at 4-2.

Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and special teams coordinator John Fassel all took time with the media on Tuesday to discuss the win over the Chargers and the overall view heading into the bye week. Here are the highlights from those availabilities.

Running our Race

Dan Quinn opened his availability by drawing a comparison between eight-time gold medalist Usain Bolt and his defensive unit by saying that when the defense focuses on their own “race” that they can get to their potential.

“All week, we talked about running our race,” Quinn said. “I thought that was an important message for us coming off last week. We used Usain Bolt in saying he wasn’t looking in lane four at Justin Gatlin. He was just worried about what he had going on. We didn’t look in lane four, and we needed that.”

That race included a photo finish in the final minutes, which was something that the Cowboys hadn’t yet faced in five games.

“We haven’t had that where we had to go in the deep waters of the last two minutes of the game in this season into our sixth game,” he said. “Coming off a loss, we weren’t looking for anything to be easy and it wasn’t. That’s exactly what we needed.”

On the Run

A pleasant sight for Cowboys fans came in the first half when Dak Prescott took off on a read option for 18 yards on fourth down to score the Cowboys’ first points.

That mobility extended into the game as Prescott led the team with 42 rushing yards after finding some additional yardage in improvising out of the pocket.

“He was terrific,” Brian Schottenheimer said. “It’s something that necessarily hasn’t been missing, but it’s something that hasn’t shown up as much as it did last night. He did a really good job of vacating and getting out in space. He was definitely a weapon for us last night.”

Answering the Bell

It goes without saying that Markquese Bell had his major coming out party on Monday night in stepping into a starting role in the second level and excelling. For Quinn, it was huge to see after last week’s injury to Leighton Vander Esch.

“Man, I was pleased with him,” Quinn said. 1-“I felt the speed. I felt in the running back coming out of the backfield, the contact, the hitting. I saw that happening.”

That praise extended to Damone Clark who also had to be fluid in positioning this week after Vander Esch’s injury.

“I was pleased with Damone, too,” he said. “With Leighton getting hurt, Damone was having to play a different position. To see those two really step into that space and want to be counted on, I think it’s one of the best feelings for a player when you step up when you know you’re being counted on and you deliver.”

Lamb’s Takeover

It was clear coming out of last week’s loss to San Francisco that CeeDee Lamb wanted the ball more, and he got his wish on Monday night in helping the offense with seven receptions and 117 yards.

While what we saw on the field was manifested for everyone to see coming out of last week, Schottenheimer said that the makings of his performance started in practice during the week.

“It really did start in practice,” he said. “He was a man on a mission. It was our Thursday practice, he was on a mission. You saw that mindset, and I think there’s something to that. First couple of plays, you get him going and he just feeds off it. I love the way he plays with his hair on fire, passionate.”

Butter Aubrey

Dak Prescott drew a few laughs in his postgame press conference when he referred to rookie kicker Brandon Aubrey – who is 16-for-16 to start his NFL career – as “Butter Aubrey” as he helped push the Cowboys over the edge with a go-ahead field goal in the final minutes.

When asked about the nickname, John Fassel resorted to humility as a sign of superstition as Aubrey closes in on the NFL record of starting a career with 18 consecutive field goals made.

“He’s on a roll,” Fassel said. “I’m trying to just lay low with it. I recognize that he’s a couple kicks from this or that. I’m trying not to build up too much.”
